Media Industry-Websites

'A website is a collection of web pages and related content that is identified by a common domain name and published on at least one web server.'

                           -Wikipedia

What are the key features of a website

  1. Functional & Easy to use- Your sight must work quickly and correctly, it is important to regularly test your site for problems and functionality. Visitors of your site will not want to work to access your information, make sure everything is clear and has obvious navigation.
  2. Mobile web users- Make sure that your site works well on any platform. There are more and more Mobile and tablet devices users every day so making sure your website works on their devices is important.
  3. Regular updates-Viewers nowadays tend to have short attention spans so social media or blog updates are a great way to keep visitors returning to your site.
  4. Accessible contact and location information- Make it easy for your audience to contact you, offer multiple points of contact; phone, email, social media or have a contact form on your website.

Website examples

 1. Robby Leonardi

Robby Leonardi is a freelance illustration, design, and animation artist. It is clear. through the design of the website, Leonardi is an illustration artist as he has designed everything on it himself.
His website is extremely interactive, you play as his little character as you go through his skills and experience in the industry.
Everything is easy to find and quickly accessible from portfolios to contact points.

I like how colourful everything is, it makes the site quite eye-catching for viewers. Because Leonardi has used his own work as the layout of the website, it makes it easier for viewers to see how versatile he is through each other the different sections of his website, each bit gives you information about the different skills he has.

2.Y78
Yul Moreau is a digital art director. His website design is very reminiscent of Korean (which is where the artist is from) pop culture in the 80s with neon wave videos and futuristic artwork.
His website is very informational, having short videos of his projects, photos and explanations of what he did in each project.

I like the simplicity of the website, with the white background and black font as it really makes his work stand out considering its all bright colours. His contact information is also really available on the top and bottom of his website, which is great for future clients.

Alice Oseman is an author, illustrator and screenwriter. Her website is easy to navigate, with different sections for her work and events she's doing. Her contact information is easy to access as we can find it in two sections on her webpage.
I love the simplicity of her webpage, it is easy on the eyes but nice enough to look around and explore the different sections.
